چکیده

Abs,stract-A new approach to high-resolution radar imaging is presented. The starting point is a model of the radar echo signal based on the physics governing radar reflections. This model has been used several times in the past for describing radar targets that are rough compared to the wavelength of the transmitted radiation. Without specifying precisely what the transmitted signal is, a general estimation-based procedure is derived for obtaining images. After discretizing the model, the radar imaging problem reduces to the task of estimating discretized second-order statistics of the reflectance process of the target Maximum likelihood estimates of these statistics are obtained as the limit point of an expectation-maximization algorithm.

روشی جدید برای تخمین همزمان تاخیر و داپلر از تابع ابهام: تلفیق فرآیندهای تصادفی و پردازش های مکانی برای حذف کلاتر و نویز

In this paper a new method is introduced for jointly delay and doppler estimation in ambiguity function based radars. In this method firstly each cell of ambiguity function is considered as a random variable, then an stochastic processes is estimated for each cell based on its value during consecutive radar scans. In the second step the ambiguity function is divided to high probability target a...

Maximum-Likelihood Estimation for Hybrid Specular/Diffuse Models of Radar Imaging and Target Recognition

We derive maximum-likelihood estimators for the glint coefficient of specular radar targets and for the scattering coefficient of diffuse radar targets. The estimator for diffuse targets is a thresholded version of the squared magnitude of the received data. The estimator for specular targets is more complicated, involving the solution of a nonlinear equation involving ratios of modified Bessel...

ML Antenna Pattern Shape and Pointing Estimation in Synthetic Aperture Radar

Radiometric calibration is a fundamental item in the processing of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data and their exploitation since it allows accurate measures of radar reflectivity. The determination of an accurate azimuth antenna pattern (AAP) and pointing acquires particular relevance for a calibration process. AAP estimation has been traditionally performed using transponders that are high ...

Adaptive Signal Detection in Auto-Regressive Interference with Gaussian Spectrum

A detector for the case of a radar target with known Doppler and unknown complex amplitude in complex Gaussian noise with unknown parameters has been derived. The detector assumes that the noise is an Auto-Regressive (AR) process with Gaussian autocorrelation function which is a suitable model for ground clutter in most scenarios involving airborne radars. The detector estimates the unknown...

Microwave Imaging Using SAR

Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar (Pol.-SAR) allows us to implement the recognition and classification of radar targets. This article investigates the arrangement of scatterers by SAR data and proposes a new Look-up Table of Region (LTR). This look-up table is based on the combination of (entropy H/Anisotropy A) and (Anisotropy A/scattering mechanism α), which has not been reported up now. ...
